The PCR Managed Service was developed to take all the value-adding elements and none of the constraints from traditional managed service ("RPO") and integrate that into all the existing flexibility and benefits of a traditional preferred supplier ("PSL") arrangement.

The PCR Managed Service is only focussed on managing recruitment within the technical functions of the client's business operations. This is where we have the greatest expertise and where we can add the most value. Within that sector we fully manage the recruitment process and also provide full data feedback on recruitment performance, so providing all the benefits of traditional RPO. Key client benefits include unburdening HR from the admin of the recruitment process, and increased management control through our development of systems for detailed recruitment performance measurement and reporting. Quality of service which is maintained by competition in the PSL is simply replaced by a contractual service commitment from us to maintain equivalent or better levels of service. As the exclusive supplier across your technical functions we can invest the time to fully understand your business and pro-actively offer solutions to specific problems you might face.

We recognize that many clients still prefer to manage their recruitment processes through a preferred supplier arrangement, and a full RPO is not appropriate for everybody Key challenges for a full RPO include the inflexibility of the structure, generally requiring long term contractual commitments and organisational changes from the client. The PCR Managed Service does not require any long-term commitment beyond a traditional PSL relationship. Additionally, many RPO providers are generalist recruiters which can create communication challenges for recruitment within specialist sectors, leading to a lower quality of service and higher recruitment costs. Because we are only focussed only on our specialities our Managed Service solution doesn't suffer the same communication, quality control and cost problems as a full managed service.

Outside the technical functions HR retains complete discretion to use specialists or a traditional PSL arrangement as appropriate in other areas. The PCR Managed Service can also be used to test the benefits of an exclusive arrangement in one functional area before considering a managed service more broadly.
