Highlights
- Feedback from Mipcom in Cannes - negative talk about the credit crunch balanced by a positive outlook, with increased opportunities for catch-up/ VOD services and pay-per view as people turn more to home entertainment
- Launch of Britania High - 360 degree multiplatform commissioning goes mainstream with the first episode launch available on ITV.com a week before network transmission
- Stephen Carters' statement that the UK can lead the way in Broadcasting and Digital Media, with the Digital Britain report due in January
Lowlights
- Continuing debate and controversy over the UK governments stance on product placement in programming and it's effect on advertising revenues
- Thousands of job losses announced in Virgin Media and BT as they restructure and fight the credit crunch
- Sachsgate - the events and the over-bearing media coverage, still rumbling on as we go to print

Xmas Parties mainly it would seem as we can't find any significant industry events.....
